This is a beautiful late 19th century portrait miniature brooch. Mounted in silver it features a finely hand painted portrait of young Scottish lad with a bird on his arm. The silver may not have been the original setting for the miniature, the clasp would indicate the setting is a little later and the backing on the miniature suggesting it was once in a different setting. Nonetheless the two come beautifully together now. It is marked sterling silver. A gem.
